Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System

Hi Steve
Do take a look at D-TACQ ACQ196CPCI : 96 simultaneous differential
channels, 16 bit resolution, one slot.
http://www.d-tacq.com/acq196cpci.shtml
The card runs Linux, has Ethernet connectivity and runs an EPICS IOC on
board.
So a single card in its own private 1U chassis could meet your requirement.
Regarding your specific application, we have a burst streaming mode that
will support rapid short bursts;
The EPICS IOC doesn't support this mode at the moment, but it isn't a
million miles away either.
Best regards
Peter.

The LLNL group that is supplying the diagnostics to commission the
LCLS needs a digitizer for an energy measurement instrument
(calorimeter) with the following characteristics:
- 100 channels sampled simultaneously
- each channel takes 100 samples at 10us per sample (1 ms total time)
- differential inputs
- 12 bits minimum; 14 or even 16 bits preferred
- sampling repeats at 120 Hz major cycle with trigger
A VME or VXI format is ideal.
Any suggestions are most welcome. Ideally, we can discuss this in
depth at the June meeting.
