Hi Dirk,
It looks like you need a compiler patch (see http://www.aps.anl.gov/
epics/tech-talk/2005/msg00086.php) for the error but I don't know if
it will fix the long inline function warnings.

Since it's only a test program, I commented it out. After that the
build continued without errors. (But there are millions of warnings
about too long inline functions.)
