For some of SNS subsystems, such as vacuum and RF resonance water cooling systems, where the software application version control for both ControlLogix codes and EPICS db/screens are required to be tightly integrated and synchronized each other. Our ADE supports such mixed platforms and software codes for version controls by
1. using CVS
2. Adding one "srcPLC" subdirectory in parallel with src, srcOpi, srcCfg, Db
   <app-release> - <subApp>
    - src  (where the SNL/Subrec C routines are)
    - srcPLC (where .ACD and .L5K files are)
    - Db (where the EPICS databases and customized local specific devSup defs etc are)
    - srcCfg (where the configuration files for archive, saveRestore, alarms, etc are)         
    - srcOpi (where the edm or other EPICS OPI files are)

Note that we use both .ACD and .L5K formats to CVS check-in and -out where the .L5K is the ascii format of the PLC code for CVS diff purpose.                               

Our experience recommends to tightly integrate PLC codes under EPICS application ADE for software versioning and field application code synch and for ease configuration management.
