Hi Emmanuel,

we're geographically diverse, in some cases even having serial
line devices on terminal servers that are remote from the IOCs.
All we do is
- put the proper routing information in the startup files
- run displays on a local (to the subnet of the IOC(s)) machine,
displaying back to wherever the 'operator' sits, e.g. I have
a dm screen on the machine I'm sitting in front of that displays
from a machine that's on the same subnet as the IOCs it gets
the information from - and two of the serial line devices it
displays values from is on a yet different subnet in a yet
  different location.
- We do have (most of) our serial consoles on console switches
to allow remote (soft) booting and trouble shooting the occasional
crash as well as networked power switches to allow remote
  hard reboots.

HTH,

Maren, UKIRT.

Hello all,

In our particular environment, we intend to have the iocs and the
control room at different geographical location.
I was wondering if anybody had a similar setup.
In which case what is your setup and what equipment did you buy.
( encryption gateway, WPN, point to point, etc. )

BTW for those of you who did not read our latest press release, here is
what is going on at Lyncean Technologies, Inc. http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2006-03/lti-msp030106.php
