Subject: vlinac broken under MacOS 10.4 Tiger?

I just fired up the vlinac demo 0.7 under MacOS X 10.4.4 (Tiger), and although everything (iocsh, carepeater, probe, etc) starts up, nothing connects. I ran it successfully nearly a year ago, and have since upgraded from MacOS 10.3 (Panther). Has anyone had any recent experience?

(I am running from the pre-built binaries.)
