Kay,

I wanted to thank you for all the help debugging this.

It was a nice change for us to be beta testers as we have been upgrading epics at STAR. Usually our problems are that we are several generations behind the curve :-)

Thanks again,

Bill and Yura

Subject: Fwd: Problem with XML RPC

Hi:

For the record, there are for now unresolved issues with
the archiver compiled against R3.14.8.

Symptoms:
In response to disconnected channels, the Engine would stop
with this message:
 > A call to "assert (this->nSec < nSecPerSec)" failed in ../../../src/
 > libCom/osi/epicsTime.cpp line 454.

The XML-RPC network data server doesn't work.
When you watch the /tmp/archserver.log,
a request
 > 12/20/2005 14:14:09 archiver.get_values
 > 12/20/2005 14:14:09 how=2, count=31
would sometimes end in 'get_sheet_data'
and sometimes in 'get_channel_data',
which doesn't make any sense.

Begin forwarded message:

Until I can look at this in more detail,
avoiding the archiver under 3.14.8
will result in a more relaxed christmas season.

Thanks,
-Kay
