It was undocumented back then...
Section 6.12 of the latest 3.14 Application Developers Guide contains
a subsection 6.12.2 which is titled "definitions" look for
DBF_INLINK, DBF_OUTLINK
In the NOTES it states that DTYP must be defined before the associated
INP or OUT field.
I looked and this note appears in the earliest 3.14 version of the
appDevGuide.
So at least, it's documented and I may even have read it, but it must
have slipped my mind... ;-)
I still suggest to change vdct to behave according to that.
