I can send you the device/driver code; e-mail me if you want it or 
have additional questions.  It was originally from Dalesio.  It was 
written for a quad-serial VME board MVME-335. I'm working towards 
using modbus tcp/ip, the latest effort I think was done by Sheng Peng.
