Hi,

I suppose you couldn't do easy :) because Epics is server and
OPC is server too. But you can do enough easy double levels servers
structure (one server on top, another on bottom). So
- Epics (top) to OPC (Epics (as client) connects to OPC server)
or
- OPC (top) to Epics (OPC connects to CA).

If I am not mistaken first variant has done in Germany. They use
standard device (PLC?) with OPC server. Look on Epics workshop of this
March/April.

About OPC server. It will be better if you will use toolkit.
Look on http://www.opcfoundation.org/ . They had some free products.

Good luck, Andrei.

P.s. Of course, you can do what you wrote. But one of the servers (OPC
or Epics) must be slave again in one task space. In the bottom it means
you couldn't use two main(){} functions in one program.
I also suppose if Epics will have another variant (as slave) it will add
openness to Epics community. That will give possibility to include Epics
into LabVIEW, MatLab or another commercial products.

Subject: OPC WITH EPICS

Hello,
Is there anybody develop an OPC Server on the EPICS?
I'm a beginner of studying OPC. I want to know the working principle of
the
OPC Server and how to achieve the data conversion.
Thanks!
