Has anyone had a problem compiling the new JCA 2.1.6 source? We
tried on both Linux and Mac OS X and get the same compile error
because JNI.cpp is missing the stdlib.h include line. This header is
needed for the calls to setenv() and such. Including this header
allows JCA to compile correctly on both platforms. We didn't test
other platforms.

I got the newer jar files jca-2.1.6.jar and caj-1.0.4.jar from

With these it appears to read the environment without need of
command-line or other properties. This is apparently a feature added
to JCA 2.1.6. It makes things much easier.
It also fixed an overflow problem I was having in another CAJ
application. Jprobe seems to work OK with the newer jars. So
it would seem wise to get the latest version.
