Hello Ken and others,
first my apologies for offending sensibilities.
The gateway is a valuable tool for separating networks and doing access
filtering. And it runs much stabler than version 1. But it is also a
fact that it has severe bugs. I have often posted my problems to
tech-talk and also mailed directly to Ken, Jeff, and Ralph. With limited
success.
In my opinion, an important goal of a workshop is not only to present
the latest and greatest features but also inform people about
experiences with EPICS software. It does not make sense that other
institutes run into the same problems as we did and spend the same
amount of time on it as I did.
As suggested by Matthias, I will discuss details directly with you, Ken.
