Dear Fellow Tech-Talkers,
I'd like to pass an array of bytes into a config call in an EPICS start up script.
Anyone know of a trick for declaring and initialising an array in an EPICS / VxWorks start up script ?

Darell,

Have a look at the autoSaveRestore package from APS. It doesn't work in the way you describe though, but should be able to do what you want.

You specify "autoRestore" files in your startup script containing lists of PV names and values. These files are then read during iocInit and the corresponding values set. It can handle arrays. The files are normally created by the autoSave mechanism but, for special cases such as yours, can also be created manually.

The package is used quite widely here at SLS.
