Hi,
We are assisting on a project to test rf modules and one of the groups
already has a pc104 system running ecos. Instead of changing their
software they wanted to see if they could adapt EPICS. The build
scripts have been configured and one of the engineers familiar with ecos
is working on the osi portion.

I did'nt see any technical comparison among O.S..
Why is EPICS/RTEMS insufficient technically ?

Based on this survey from Embedded System Programming,
"Embedded systems survey: Operating systems up for grabs"
ecos looks viable (see Figure 10). RTEMS is off the radar.

/In the beginning of the article, it stated :
"Note: Ranking every operating system is a tricky business
because there are so many good choices available. Although
we tried to list every significant embedded operating system in
our survey, it's still possible we've omitted somebody's favorite./"
If the survey was based on the EPICS community, ecos
will be off the radar.

Kate
