I was wondering if anyone has found a free tool (or built one) that provides helpful filtering, sorting, perusing, processing of the standard ioc error log file ... i.e. a good noise filter. Hi Ned, I wrote a small tcl/tk application to browse those log files. I guess you can easily adapt it to your local environment. Have a look at: http://people.web.psi.ch/luedeke/tmp/iocLogBrowser.tcl You need to specify your logfile path and a file prefix if you deal with several log files of different types, e.g. of different networks. Both are defined at the beginning of the file. The program provides searching and filtering by regular expressions for: * Message pattern * IOC pattern * Date Ranges For log files <1MB it works ok; for bigger files filtering get's a bit slow. I hope it is useful to you. Andreas -- Dr. Andreas Luedeke, SLS Operations Manager, Tel:+41-56-3104002 mailto:[email protected], http://people.web.psi.ch/luedeke
