For R3.14.6, ai record, the following:

field(LINR, "LINEAR")

does not generate a database parse error, but after iocInit the LINR field is set to 0 and the behavior of the record seems to be independent of the value of ESLO.

What device support are you using for this record? Some device support layers set LINR to 0 because they will write their input values directly to the VAL field without doing any input conversions at all.

Poking a 2 into LINR seems to make the record aware of the ESLO field.

Can anyone explain this. I've read the record manual but am still not certain of the correct value for the LINR field.

LINR is a menu field, the definition of menuConvert is found in <base>/src/bpt/menuConvert.dbd (and gets installed into <base>/dbd) but may be overridden by your IOC application if it needs to load any other breakpoint tables.
