I am trying to talk to a Boonton power meter via E5810 Ailgent controller.
So far, I have downloaded the epics base 3.14.6 package, build the base
package, built the asyndriver package and built them. Knowing that I need
to setup a database file for the power meter, I would like to get some
simple procedures to setup a test to verify the communication. There are
many documentations and some of them are obsolete. After reading and
sorting many doc, I would like to know if someone can give me pointers/step
to be able to use testGpibApp to test out the connection. Thank you
The testGpibApp supplied with the ASYN package provides an asynRecord. This
is all you need to be able to enter commands to an medm screen and to see the
reply from the power meter.
As well, much of the 'how to do serial' tutorial supplied with ASYN applies to
GPIB devices too.
