Greetings from L.I.

I am trying to implemente an IP-Octal 232. We were running EPICS 3.12, and now I finally have an EPICS system in place that is compatible with drvIpac, devTip810 and tyGSOctal up and running on a version of EPICS3.13.1 [We are tied to VxWorks 5.2 so I didnt push this further.. I hope to get RTEMS working to transition to the 21st century soon :-) ]

I tested the carrier board, and these packages by rebuilding our CANbus application and am confident that the code and databases for the application work. I ran the application using the mvme back plane on our old EPICS, and have tested that on the new EPICS system as well. We we are talking to some HVsys contollers.

My next step was to try to create devices for the Octal module. As near as I can tell everything is working fine. I get now errors during boot up, and devs shows the devices I create....

Still I cant seem to get our application code to talk to these devices... it occured to me that tyGSOctal might not be opening ports, reading, and writting using standard ioLib commands.. is this the case? Or should I be looking at my hardware connections to from the Octal module to my controllers...I thought I had these correct...

Thanks in advance for you help,

Ps... I saw once that the BNL SNS group tested this modle back in 98. I would be interested in talking with any one there about this. Email me or call me at x7803
