I generally prefer to use a standard init.d-style script to start and kill
caRepeater at boot and shutdown. We are using Linux, but I believe the
same applies to Solaris, and probably most current Unix systems.
The primary motivation for this is that the executable comes from an NFS
mounted filesystem, and not killing it off gets in the way of unmounting
that filesystem. This was a real problem with earlier versions of RedHat
Linux, causing the system to never shutdown properly. Now, the filesystem
will eventually be forced to unmount, but it's cleaner to kill off
caRepeater first.
