Have you talked to WRS about their enterprise licensing model? This allows you to use any target on any host architecture, plus there are a number of other goodies thrown in. The catch of course is the price. The yearly subscription is much more than the annual maintenance cost for a current license. If you have a number of target and/or host architectures then it might start to make sense. It might also make sense if you want to move to VxWorks 6.0 when it comes out. We met with WRS this week and are starting to consider these issues. Unfortunately I can't make the collaboration meeting, but I'm sure this would be a good subject to discuss one evening. As for the MVME2100, IIRC according to Motorola, the 32MB version is not going away anytime soon and the replacement on the road map I saw early last year was also based on the PPC603 core.
