I reported the bug using the address from the EPICS VDCT page. You have to replace the "_at_" in the address with "@". Sorry, but I don't know of a solution. John. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [rt.cosylab.com #5031] AutoReply: VDCT strips \ character from field definitions Date: Thu, 12 Feb 2004 23:30:54 +0100 (CET) From: Bug <[email protected]> Reply-To: [email protected] To: [email protected]
There is no need to reply to this message right now. Your ticket has been assigned an ID of [rt.cosylab.com #5031]. Please include the string: [rt.cosylab.com #5031] in the subject line of all future correspondence about this issue. To do so, you may reply to this message. Thank you, [email protected] ------------------------------------------------------------------------- In VDCT the ‘\’ character, used to signal special, nonprintable, characters is stripped from all field definitions when a file is read in and are then permanently lost when saved. i.e. field(OUT,"@$(PORT) {\x040011\x022WL>%s}{\x06}") becomes field(OUT,"@$(PORT) {x040011x022WL>%s}{x06}") This is a common usage for drvAscii serial communication.
