We , KEKB, use the similar approach to store the data from EPICS
database into
RDB(PosgtreSQL).
A tiny program written in Python monitors events in EPICS database and
stores
event data, i.e. a value, a time stamp, and other related data, into RDB,
We use a standard Python module to handle RDB from this program.
Rich set of modules is one of benefit using Python.
