My responses are below.
Those symbols are from various files in dbStaticLib, and *should* be
present - did you have any problems at all when building?

I did not have any errors while building EPICS base. I did, however, get
1123 warning messages of various types.
Try going into src/dbStatic and doing a 'gnumake rebuild' there, a
'gnumake' in the src/iocCore directory, and then a 'gnumake' from the top
of your IOC application.

I tried it and I am still getting the same error. I also tried to go back
to the version of base that I was using previously (3.13.7)

and I see the same error, which is strange since I don't believe I changed
anything in the 3.13.7 version of base. I may have

rebuilt it to compare the warning messages to those of 3.13.9.
So now I've succeeded at completely killing my ioc.
