The first quick answer is to upgrade - as the assert message you reported indicates, your version of Base came out over 6 years ago, and there have been *many* changes to the code since then, including to that portion of dbEvent.c. You're not likely to get the core developers interested in solving a problem that was probably fixed almost five years ago I'm afraid.


EV seqAux: A call to "assert (ev_que->evUser->nDuplicates>=1u)" failed in ../dbEvent.c at 1036

Jeff Hill checked in some changes to that section of code in October 1998, in time for the 3.13.1 release of Base. R3.13.1 is still available for download from the EPICS website, although if you're going to upgrade I'd really recommend that you pull yourselves all the way up to R3.13.8.
