Hi Rok,
I had a problem (I think the same) on RH9, It was a perl problem, as a
workaround I had to modify the file: configure/tools/mkmf.pl and
comment out the lines:
#   while ( length $line > 78 ) {
#      write ;
#   }
which occur twice in the file.
This is a workaround not a fix, the code is ok, so it might be a problem
with perl on a unpatched redhat install.

Here the build process just waits (for eternity). I know that people
have succeeded in building epics under rh9, but has anyone encountered
this problem before?
