Hello,
Yes, I get several answers to my request about a possible solution to drive
a Fieldpoint network with a serial line in Linux - EPICS R3.14 environment.
I looked mainly in 2 different directions:
1. Use of drvSerial/ drvASCII (thanks to Paul Tyler and Kevin Tsubota who
sent to me the R3.14 version). It works fine. But, due to the very general
protocol of drvASCII, it is neither possible to implement the checksum
policy of the FP (fieldpoint) protocol, nor the check of the module
responses. On the other hand, this approach is very convenient to test
individual FP commands on the fly (particularly useful to understand the
different types of commands, parameters etc..)
2. Use of the dedicated FP software written by CLS (thanks to Elder Matias
who sent me the documentation and to Glen Wright who sent the software). I
am now running this software. It runs pretty well, performs checks of the FP
transfers, and greatly simplifies the writing of the database. I will just
have to add device drivers for an ao and an ai FP module not included in the
CLS package.
Many thanks to all the others who sent me advices and possible solutions.

Hello,
Did you ever get a reply to your answer re: Fieldpoint?
I know we have done some work at with it here. I wasn't directly involved
with it, but can put you in touch with those who are.
