Thanks for all responses! Lots of valuable experience learned! This will help in deciding what IOC's to consider. Longevity is a very important issue to consider! Our current EPICS systems are HP 9000/745 computer based. These are working fine at this time. But getting parts for the HP's is "very close" to impossible today. The HP's are the primary reason for considering system upgrades. We are in the upgrade planning stage now, but are working toward using Redhat Linux 7.3 PC computers to replace the HP's. to: David Purcell <[email protected]>, Yes, we would like to share PCI experiences.
