Looking in the docs is definitely worth giving a try, but generally
all these environment variables have reasonable default values, so you
only _have_ to set them if your system is configured in a non-standard
way.
Other things to look for include:
- Check the network connection of your windows box: Is the IP number in
the right network? Does the network mask match? Can you ping the IOC
system from the windows command line?
- If your windows box and the IOC are not in the same IP subnet: Read
the appropriate chapter of the Channel Accesss doc. In this case you
_will_ have to set variables on the client system to make things work.
- Check the environment on your working linux client system: if any
variables related to CA are set, try setting them accordingly on the
windows box.
- Check the environment of your linux IOC system: are any CA-related
variables set which change the behaviour of the IOC? You will have to
use the matching settings on the client system.
- Check if your linux IOC has Access Security enabled. If so, the
Access Security file might have to be changed to allow access from
your windows box.
All Channel Access environment variables are described in the doc that
Ernest pointed you to.
Access Security is documented in the Application Developer's Guide.
First of all: Good luck!
