Subject: Cross compiler source and patch file for gcc-2.7.2 on Linux

This is for those who are interested in the gcc-2.7.2 cross compiler from
Wind River that I discussed at the Epics meeting. The cross compiler that
WRS ships with Tornado 2.0.2 is governed by the GNU GPL therefore they have
to make it publicly available. They comply with the GPL by distributing the
GPL sources on a free CD. These gcc sources can be used to build a cross
compiler on other host platforms such as Linux. Here at SNS we have worked
out a set of patches to allow the compiler to be built and used on Red Hat
Linux 7.x on an x86 CPU.

The utilities that WRS ships with Tornado to build kernels, ones that are
used in the BSP Makefile are not included in the GPL.

I am sorry that I have taken so long to get this posted.

To those who have already downloaded files: I have updated the files on the
SNS public ftp server to clean some things up and reduce some confusion that
I have caused.

The files are located in: ftp://snsftp.sns.ornl.gov/UPLOAD/controls/CROSS/ .

If you have the WRS GNU source CD you need the following files:

patch.txt (This is a context diff from "cvs patch" that should work with
patch.)
	README.SFtype
	README.sns.txt

If you do not have the CD and want to download the source tarball you want
these files:

	crossgcc-2.7.2-WRS.src.tgz
	README.SFtype
	README.sns.txt

If you just want to see the changes that I made then get the patch.txt file.

The presentation PowerPoint file is in:
ftp://snsftp.sns.ornl.gov/UPLOAD/controls/DaveThompson/Cross%20Compiler.ppt

Good luck.
