Subject: bizarre conflict between iocSh and NIS???
From: "Arne P. Freyberger" <[email protected]>

We're starting to play around with R3.14.0.beta1  on  a linux box(RH7.2).   The iocShApp example has a very curious behavior.  The iocShApp runs fine for users with local passwds but for users with passwds served via NIS....a seg fault occurs during iocInic:
Starting iocInit
Segmentation fault
I've checked the eniviroment variables and they are identical.   The reason I suspect(ed) NIS is that when I do a "strings" on the core file I see  lines from the passwd file.  I've verified this with two three local passwd accounts (OK) and two NIS accounts (not OK)....

I'll try to compile with debug flags and run the debugger on it, but if anyone has already fixed this  please let me know....

Thanks!
Arne
