Hi Kay,
another suggestion for the (withdrawn) DRLM solution:
The clamp mode should rather use the PVAL field instead of the OVAL field.

If you have a periodically scanned "ao_reject" record, due to the OROC field slowly ramping
to reach the final value VAL. Now a user writes a new value that is out of the allowed drive range.

   * If the VAL field is now set to OVAL, the record would stop at the current output value, a value
     that was never set by any user or application.

   * If the VAL field is set to PVAL, the record would continue to drive to the last accepted value.

I think the latter is maybe the preferred "reject" behaviour.
