Rozelle,

We have been gleefully stopping, reloading object code, and restarting sequence code in the newer versions. We do note that this cannot be done forever - after a while the IOC will crash. I don't know what dependencies there are (available memory?, file descriptors?).

Are you saying that the "closing a file pSP->logFd" can or should be reinstated?

/Ron

We used to have the problem that when we killed the sequencer, the ioc
would have to be rebooted.
William Lupton discovered that closing a file pSP->logFd caused this
to happen, so we commented out the place in our seq version 1.9.2.Beta12
where this file was closed and the problem went away.
In our version it is in the file seq_task.c line 471.
And it is also at the line number in epics release R3.13.3.

It appears to be fixed in epics release R3.13.5.

I think that if you comment out line 471 in our version of seq_task.c
it may fix your problem also.
