As part of the SNS collaboration, those of us here at ORNL using EPICS for
control systems applications are interested because we too are moving to use
of Linux as the standard OS for SNS global controls. We followed the lead of
PSI in setting up a cross-compiler environment that allows us to develop EPICS
applications using the PowerPC (ppc603 and MVME2101 CPU) architecture. This
is working fine for us so far. We too have had discussions with WRS sales
people to tell them of our interest in moving to the Linux platform.

In answer to your question for contacts:
    1. Ernest L Williams or myself
    2. Oak Ridge National Laboratory
    3. 2
    4. #??? for 68K; #16662 for PowerPC

We too just want the BSPs, the libraries/headers, and GNU stuff...

Regards,
John Munro
