Hi Ron,

First thing you might want to try is close nescape/gnome etc and start
with a very basic X session. If that still fails, it might depend on
your X server setup, version, and graphic card.

First I was using 16 depth with XFree_SVGA on a neomagic card and that
worked fine.
When I upgraded to rh7.1, the X server changed and I had the blink
problem, so I went back to the old SVGA.

I think if you Xstart in 8bit depth mode, things are more likely to
work, but that's quite a compromise. There's a hack to have two Xservers
running simultaneously and toggling between the two with ctrl+alt+F6/7 -
I haven't too much impressed by that.

PS: edd/dm builds and runs on linux with openmotif (that won't really
help you! it's just for information if you plan to run things on Linux).
