Thank you.
I have succeeded in that.
I just take a new binutils package, binutils-2.9.1.tar.gz.

| Hello Shen:
|
| Maybe this is the not problem, but are you sure that you have
| the correct version of the sources?
|
| The "real" cross compiler from WRS reports:
| ./c++68k --version
| cygnus-2.7.2-960126 egcs-971225 tornado 2.0
| ./c++386 --version
| cygnus-2.7.2-960126 egcs-971225 tornado 2.0
| ./c++ppc --version
| cygnus-2.7.2-960126 egcs-971225 tornado 2.0
| -> For Tornado2, the WRS compiler was based on gcc/g++
| "cygnus-2.7.2-960126 egcs-971225" for the 68k, 386 and ppc target.
|
| Since this is GNU code, WRS has to merge everything they did back into
| the GNU sources
| -> If you get that version of the GNU sources, you should be able to build
| your own cross compiler.
|
| But: If you just get any version of the GNU sources, maybe more recent ones,
| then those might not build as a GNU cross compiler.
|
| I believe that Markus Janousch at PSI was succesful in building
| a Linux->ppc cross compiler which seems to work OK, it reports:
| ./g++ppc --version
| 2.8.1
|
| -> The GNU 2.8.1 sources allow to build a cross compiler for the PPC target,
| but I'm not sure if this would work for other targets.
|
| Ernest, I copied you because I remember you were succesful with one target.
| Which one was it and what version of the GNU sources did you use?
|
| Thanks,
| -Kay
