	Folks,

We are starting to design the Machine Protection System for SPEAR3. One of the options we are considering is the Allen-Bradley SLC 5/05 which comes with an Ethernet interface. Is there EPICS support for this interface? Does anyone have suggestions for a communications interface--Ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNet or the tried-and-true Blue Hose? Is anyone using the new generation of Allen-Bradley processors, the ControlLogix family? Any other advice about MPS systems and EPICS at this early stage of our thinking would be greatly appreciated.
