You think this is the only way to get a full path name in the icon title? Look again.

We open "related displays" exclusively and get the full path name
when the screen is iconified. These long icon names have
been observed for more than 5 years of MEDM versions.

Note that MEDM is the _only_ X window application I use
that seems to have the full path names in the iconified state..
Also note that this behavior is observed with both X-Win32
(http://www.starnet.com) and eXceed (www.hummingbird.com)
X window servers.

This happens when you open a .adl file from the "Open" dialog. The
"selection" text includes the full path to the file. If you clear it, and
type in the name of the file you want to open, or select one from the list
and then delete the leading path elements, the icon name will be just the
file name. Note that this only works if the file you want to open is in
the directory which was the current working directory when MEDM was run.

Ken:

The window title is set using medmSetDisplayTitle(), which strips off the
leading path, while the icon name is just set to displayInfo->dlFile->name,
which includes the full path.
