Just got back from a show and tell from WindRiver on network controls
systems.  OPC is one item discussed by a company called EMation.  It looks
like they have some OPC drivers that will work under vxWorks.  There would
still be work to make it EPICS compatible but it's a start.\

Also,  Allen Bradley was discussing EtherNet/IP protocol for talking to PLCs
over the net.  EtherNet/IP is an open standard but they also mentioned a
driver for vxWorks.
