I think that the CPID record suffers from some of the same problems with the
PID record which I describe at:
http://cars.uchicago.edu/software/epidRecord.html#Problems

I think my EPID record fixes these, and would suggest that it might be a
better candidate for inclusion in base.  I am also happy to continue to
distribute it separately.
