Dear all,
We have been working with EPICS using Solaris and VxWorks for the
last three years, and now we would like to test EPICS (CA client) in Linux.
The Linux version that we have is Red Hat Linux release 6.1 with
Kernel 2.2.12-20 running on a Pentium PC.
We start the caRepeater by hand (as suggested in the README.Linux file),
and it works, but when we run a Channel Access test program then it crashes.
After an elementary debugging process (consisting in adding some "printf"s
before an after a function call) we have seen that the error appears
when "ca_task_initialize" is called. In particular, a "Segmentation fault"
happens when the function "ca_os_indepen_init" just returns.
I understand that this is not much information but any hint on this
problem will be very welcome.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Josep
