Subject: IOC Crash with CA Messages

Hello -

One of our PEPII RF IOCs crashed last Sunday after reporting some CAS messages:

 5-MAR-2000 08:38:59 RFS08HER01 RFSTATES: In ON_CW. Direct/Comb loops fast on.
5-MAR-2000 08:39:33 Clients begin reporting network connection lost.
 5-MAR-2000 08:40:26 RFS08HER01 0x75b4dc (CA client):
CAS header: cmmd=19 cid=0x6f4a type=5 count=1 postsize=8 available=0xde7e0000
 5-MAR-2000 08:40:26 RFS08HER01 0x75b4dc (CA client):
CAS: N=0 paddr=8f35f0
 5-MAR-2000 08:59:45 RFS08HER01 Starting iocInit

This IOC has not been reboot since 3-Feb-2000 and has been functioning OK 24/7.

  Type: VXI niCpu030
  VxWorks: 1.0.1
  EPICS: 3.13.1
VXI crate also has AB VME scanner plus many custom VXI modules.
CPU, memory, and file descriptor usage around the time of crash
  was normal (~80%, ~70%, ~30%, respectively).

Since the clients disconnect before the CA messages are reported, these
messages may not be a clue and may only be the result of some other failure.
Has anybody seen something like this before?

Thanks very much,

Stephanie Allison
