All,
I think working on a unified Capfast distribution is a good idea - pity
it doesn't ever figure highly on any of our priority list's. How many
sites are going to go through all their databases fixing them so they
conform to a distribution set of symbols?
On the other hand, we personally are probably going to be bitten by it
soon enough since we will be sharing an instrument with another EPICS site
(Gemini) and I am sure there are going to be some problems - which is an
incentive. I believe they have fiddled with the PV: property and, as
William says, that will be unacceptable for us.
