Yes, sometimes the documentation does not keep up with the code evolution.

Attached are a few medm displays (to Brian) that contain a sample of almost 
all the fields in the scan record (Version 3.13) . It basically is a "scan 
control panel" that allows a scan to be configured interactively. Although 
I don't view this as "documentation", it does help to convey most of the 
functionality.

If you have specific questions, let me know.

Also, I have to tattle on Tim Mooney (since he didn't say anything). The
reason the SCAN record in base has not had any edits since 1996 is
because Tim has been evolving the SCAN record in his synApps area. He has
improved it greatly (I think it now supports 70 detectors !) Probably the
biggest change is that he now uses put-callbacks for the positioners
and detectors, so there is no need for WAIT records to figure out when
positioners/detectors are done (the callbacks don't occur until motors are
stopped or detectors are done). This has shown to be a much more flexible
approach. Contact Tim for details (sorry, Tim).
