Subject: CA LINK's not monitoring.

All... (but probably Jeff),

I just had a strange fault that I have never experienced before.
Unfortunately I don't have much information about it either.

In a nutshell, the problem was that the CA input links in a calcout record
(and maybe the rest of the machine - I don't know) stopped updating on one
of our IOC's. The system had last been booted several weeks before and has
been running essentially unchanged for months (even years). All the MDEL's
are set appropriately on the other end of the link - I just sat there and
saw that the value of a PV on one IOC was one value, and on the other IOC
it was another value. I had never seen this behaviour before, so I was
somewhat surprised.

I reset one of the link fields in the record doing the monitoring (it was
a Calcout record and had many CA input links from more than one other
machine) by writing the the current value of the link to it. This seemed
to free things up and all the CA monitored values in that record got set
to the current values.

I finally rebooted the IOC to clear everything up.

I have searched through the last two weeks of logfiles and found nothing
amiss - and so don't know when the problem started. Anyway, I am wondering
whether this is a known problem that is fixed in a later release or is
just something I have to look out for.

I am running R3.13.0Beta11. The machine doing the monitoring is a Baja47
MIPS (RISC) CPU. The other machines are Baja60's (68060).

Any ideas?
