sddslogger is a new SDDS tool for EPICS logging. It uses raw CA instead
of EZCA and supports multiple input and output files. It will also do
averaging. Presently, it samples everything at the same rate, but that
could be changed. It also automatically makes generation files with
the date as part of the filename, which allows the job to run
indefinitely with a new file every day. We are gradually switching
to sddslogger from sddsmonitor in most archival applications.
sddslogger isn't documented yet but I think the usage message is
more than sufficient for those familiar with sddsmonitor. You can
get it in the latest release from
http://www.aps.anl.gov/asd/oag/oagPackages.shtml.
You'll need "SDDS1.13.Beta 7" and "SDDSepics1.13 Beta 3". *Note
that the source code in these releases may be incompatible with prior
releases.* If you have trouble downloading or building these versions,
contact [email protected].
sddssynchlog is also included. We will try to get these programs
documented shortly. In the meantime, questions and suggestions
can be emailed directly to me.
