I have been examining the channel archiver documentation and cannot
determine how to achieve a particular objective; let me explain what
we would like to do.
First, we want to log data at a rate of 1 sample per channel per hour for
examining long term trends. This, of course, is easy to do with the
software.
In addition, we want to log data at a rate of 1 sample per channel every
10 seconds. These samples are used as an event pre-trigger buffer; we do
not want to keep the data for more than a day or so.
I do not see a way to limit the number of files the archiver writes
or a way to manipulate files without destroying the internal pointer
consistency.
Am I missing something simple here? Does anyone else have similar
requirements?
