I've looked around and cannot find info on the vxworks task watchdog. Is there a
doc somewhere explaining how to use the taskwd functions?
I have a task that runs from a subroutine record to handle a lot of special
processing including I/O from a number of sources (digital readouts, dedicated
chassis, and some serial stuff). I've recently discovered the hard way that the
whole thing will come to a screaching halt if that serial read doesn't go
through. The whole program just hangs on that "fscanf" call until something
happens. It occured to me that the logical thing to do would be to have a
watchdog sit there and jump-start the program if it stalled too long.
Any thoughts, comments, suggestions, alt ideas?
