Dear all,
There was some discussion of a Unix port of the sequencer on tech-talk
last month (while I was on vacation). I gave a presentation on this at
the May SLAC meeting, which can be found at URL:

Sequencer/index.html
Since then I have done some further work, and Greg White has nearly
finished implementing entry and exit actions and some other goodies.
Once Marty's iocCore port changes have been checked back into CVS, I
will ensure that the Unix sequencer works with them (this should not be
a large job), will integrate Greg's changes, and will check the result
back into CVS at ANL as an unbundled extension called, probably,
"seq2k". At this point, the community will have access to the Unix
sequencer. This is version 2.0 of the sequencer.
Note that there is another unbundled extension in the ANL CVS
repository which is called "sequencer". This is not the Unix version. It
is the version of the sequencer from base together with various local
changes (e.g. to support queuing of monitors) that I have made over the
last few years. I will also integrate Greg's changes into it. This is
version 1.9.3 of the sequencer.
I hope that this is clear. Please ask if not. Thanks,
William
