I remember Till Straumann compiled EPICS with debug info and
successfully used gdb for tracking down bugs. Problem is he no longer
works at PTB. Maybe his mail account is still open, though (I doubt that
he's following tech-talk any longer). Try [email protected], that's
the account he had at BESSY.
