Dear EPICS-Users,

I just released a new version of DM2K (formerly known as medm 2.4 or
medm/DESY or simply "european medm").

We made some major steps the last weeks including:

   * comes with a free Cartesian Plot Widget 

     Ge Lei @ JLab wrote a plug-in replacement for the XRT/graph-widget. It 
     is source-code compatible with the comemrcial XRT/graph widget and
     supplies all features dm2k is making use of.

   * compiles under Linux and Solaris (native platform is HP-UX)

     Binaries for all three platforms are available on the web-address
     mentioned. Esp. the Linux-version is interesting, because it does not
     require any commercial product/license (JPT instead of XRT, lesstif
     instead of Motif).

   * supports native X cunt'n'paste (not only Motif drag'n'drop) for
     PV-names on mouse-button-2.

   * LOPR, HOPR, PREC can be overridden in the adl-file for Valuator, Bar,
     Meter, Indicator and TextUpdate.

There have been many changes/fixes/cleanups made in the last months, so the 
current release is version 2.5.0a. The stabilized version 2.5.1 should
appear in the near future with settled support of Linux and Solaris.

Any wishes/suggestions/bug-reports are definitely welcome! So are
volunteers willing to contribute to the project.
