Another possibility, if you are writing to a device which is
attached to the VME bus, is the generic VME record that Mark Rivers at
U. Chicago has provided. Fields in the record select the direction
(read or write), the addressing mode (A16, A24, A32), the data mode
(D8, D16, D32), and the size of the transfer. Look at the description
